“Our three-year-old son is on the autism spectrum. He is non-verbal and prior to starting therapy had many tantrums and would not engage with us. He had no way to communicate his needs except for by taking our hand to the object he wanted and if that didn’t work, he would have a major meltdown. 

We ended up finding The Behaviour Team in the summer of 2018 and after completing an assessment, we registered our son for 1 on 1 behaviour therapy.  They started by getting him interested in learning and then taught him how to use PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System). He can distinguish between over 20 pictures and now has a way to communicate with us. We can see his wonderful personality shining through and how smart he is – he just needed to be taught in a way that made sense to him. We are shocked at his progress and so incredibly thankful for The Behaviour Team. They are extremely dedicated and passionate about helping children and their families – and are amazing at it. “Our son was 3 years old when he was diagnosed with mild autism. Trying to navigate this new world was overwhelming. Then we met Sandy. She was our sons instructor therapist and our first experience with ABA therapy. She made an incredibly difficult experience easier for us.  She radiates knowledge and passion for the children she works with. Both of our children fell in love with her, as did we.   We trusted her experience and her dedication to our son was evident.  He made great gains working with Sandy and genuinely looked forward to seeing her. 

We met Anita a few months after we began therapy when she joined our sons team as the senior therapist. She has a deep understanding of autism and behaviour. Most importantly, she is willing to share her knowledge to teach parents strategies and techniques to assist their child.
