Picture of Sandy MacMillar, Centre Director
  • Sandy holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Wilfrid Laurier and a Behavioural Science Degree from George Brown. She has worked for multiple organizations as an Instructor Therapist and was provincially trained in Intensive Behavioural Intervention.

    Sandy's past includes a variety of work with children both in Canada and overseas, in the fields of childcare and education. In 2012, Sandy branched out as an entrepreneur and opened her own daycare. Her positions with children led her to pursue a career in Behavioural Therapy, where she found her passion in life, working with children with disabilities.

    Sandy loves combining her passions of working with children with neurodiversities and entrepreneurship. Working with people is her favourite part of owning The Behaviour Team Inc. She takes pride in providing a safe, fun and effectively managed therapy centre for clients, families and staff.

  • Anita holds a Bachelor’s Degree, a Behavioural Science Degree at George Brown, a Masters in Special Education (Applied Behaviour Analysis) and is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst.

    Anita started in 2009 as an Instructor Therapist at various agencies, and acquired her provincial training. In 2012 she started working directly with families as a Senior Therapist and Behavioural Consultant for children, youth and adults. Anita has completed PECS training, Pivotal Response Training and is a member of ONTABA.

    Anita fell in love with the field in 2009 and continues to be passionate about behavioural science. Anita brings dedication, persistence and drive for her families.

Heather Laidman

  • Heather received a specialist degree from the University of Toronto and completed a Master of Professional Education degree from Western University. In 2021 she received her BCBA certification!

    Heather has worked in the field for many years and has worked in a variety of settings, including respite care, music and swim programs, private and public centres, and has worked in schools overseas. She is passionate about implementing applied behavioural principles in order to teach skills which will help individuals lead independent and fulfilling lives.

  • Faith received her Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree in Sociology from York University, followed by the Behavioural Science graduate program at George Brown College. She completed her Masters of Arts in Special Education with an emphasis on Applied Behaviour Analysis through Arizona State University in 2021.

    During her first placement, Faith immediately fell in love with the field and has since then serviced children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. She is extremely passionate about the behavioural science field and enjoys celebrating each client’s development of new skills and milestones. In October 2023 she received her BCBA certification.

Faith Grynol-Mehany

Samantha MacDonald

  • Samantha received her diploma in behavioural science in 2014 from George brown college. She found her passion for the field during her various placements while earning her diploma.

    Since 2014 Sam has worked as a Behaviour Therapist at a private centre as well as working with private clients in Home. Anita Lloyd became a mentor to Sam over the past years as they worked together with many clients.

    Sam’s love and dedication for the field continues to grow.

  • Shannon received her bachelor degree from York University and has a diploma in community and justice services from Centennial College. Throughout her education she has had two field placements in elementary schools.

    Shannon has worked with youth in various settings, including aiding children with classroom expectations at school. With this she discovered she wants to focus her career on working with children.

    Shannon is passionate about assisting people gain skills that will help them live their best life and is committed to making a difference in the lives of the people she works with.

Kendra Bilewicz

  • Kendra is a Brock University alumni with a Degree in Child and Youth Studies and an Honours Diploma in Behaviour Science through George Brown College’s post graduate program.

    Kendra worked as an Instructor Therapist both in-centre and home-based and also worked in a school solely dedicated to the education and treatment of individuals with Autism and other development delays. Through this she has also worked in respite care and parent-training.

    Kendra was a daycare liaison for children who needed extra assistance in the realms of Behaviour, Speech, Occupational and Recreational Therapy as well as an Assistant Supervisor of the daycare.

    In 2020, Kendra decided to go back into the field of ABA that she fell in love with many years prior. She is so excited to be a member The Behaviour Team family , not only because the staff are revolutionary in the field but also because she can see the genuine love and care for each child that comes through TBT’s doors. This is what makes for success and she is so grateful she gets to be a part of it!

  • Alice received her Bachelor’s degree in Early childhood Studies from Ryerson University in 2018. During her placements with children, she started to discover a passion for working with kids. She went to explore that passion by working in after school programs and daycares.

    Alice found a passion for children with special needs through working as a summer camp counsellor. She then went back to school and obtained her Graduate Certificate with Honours in Autism and Behavioural Science from George Brown College in 2020.

    Alice hopes to bring her knowledge of children development and her passion for working with kids into this field. She hopes to continue her education of becoming a BCBA in the future. Alice is excited to be part of the team and can’t wait to learn from of those on the Behaviour team.

Alice Lee

Christel Dantas

  • Christel was first introduced to Autism and Down syndrome at a young age, having members of her family diagnosed with these exceptionalities. She has life-long experience working with children and loves to continually learn.

    Christel received a Bachelor’s degree in Honours English from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2018. Through many behavioural courses she discovered a new passion for Behavioural Therapy. She went on to complete her Graduate Certificate with Honors in Autism and Behavioural Science in 2020.

    Christel hopes to gain more experience and knowledge of Behavioural Therapy and continues to work towards her RBT Certificate and one day, dreams of becoming a BCBA. Christel is excited to be a part of The Behaviour Team and cannot wait to see what the future holds.

  • Laura received her Honours Bachelor of Behaviour Analysis from George Brown College. Throughout her field placements Laura worked with many different individuals ranging from kids to adults, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Acquired Brain Injury, and dual diagnosis. Through these placements she found her passion in the field and working with children.

    In this role Laura plans to use her knowledge and experience to bring the best possible support to kids and their development. She plans to continue her education in the field to eventually become a BCBA. Laura is excited to be a part of such a supportive team and to bring her experience and passion to the field.

Laura Ambas

Vera Ibarra

  • Vera holds a Bachelor's degree and is a Registered Psychometrician in the Philippines. Her passion lies in making a difference in the field of mental health and serving as an advocate for those in need.

    After several years in the HR industry, Vera discovered her profound passion for helping children with special needs. She took on the role of Lead Instructor Therapist at her former autism centre, where she adeptly administered 1:1 and group direct ABA therapy to children while collaborating with parents and other professionals. She is eager to expand and apply her expertise and knowledge at The Behaviour Team. Currently, Vera is actively pursuing her RBT certification and harbors ambitions of attaining the BCBA designation in the near future.

    Beyond her work, Vera channels her creativity through photography and poetry. Her drive to make a lasting impact on the lives of children is the primary motivation propelling her to excel in this field.

  • Mehwish graduated with Honors from Seneca College's Behavioural Sciences program in 2021.

    Prior to this, Mehwish worked closely with children as a tutor working on their academics, social skills, and communication in Saudi Arabia. It was through one of her students that she was introduced to autism and discovered her passion to learn about learning disabilities and behaviour analysis.

    While in college, she started working at an ABA centre that helped her gain skills and experience to work as an Instructor therapist. With nearly two years of hands-on experience working with children aged 4-16, she has gained in-depth knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis techniques. By applying evidence-based strategies, she has helped young clients develop positive behaviours and improve their quality of life. Her compassionate and empathetic approach has won her the hearts of children and families alike.

    Working with children brings Mehwish great pleasure. She also thinks that one of the most rewarding aspects is seeing the learner's growth and improvement and building a strong relationship with them.

    One day, she hopes to become a BCBA. She is eager to learn from her everyday work experiences and looks forward to growing with the team!

Mehwish Hasan

Jania Hemnani

  • Jania graduated from Western University with an Honours Specialization. Her journey into the realm of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has been one fueled by a profound commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of those she serves.

    Following Western, she has worked as an Instructor Therapist for the past year and a half, staying focused on her goal to nurture and support children with autism as they embark on their unique paths toward independence and growth. She is deeply committed to expanding her expertise in the field through pursuing certifications like her RBT and completing a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. Her approach as an instructor therapist is grounded in empathy, patience, and a genuine enthusiasm for fostering positive change.

    Outside her professional endeavors, Jania enjoys embroidery and knocking movies off of her watchlist!

Shakerra Kenyon

  • Shakerra Kenyon studied behaviour science at Humber College and is pursuing a master's in applied behaviour analysis (ABA) at Western University. She became interested in ABA after becoming aware of its impact on helping autistic children develop skills to improve their quality of life. It gives her great joy to support families and children with developmental disabilities and to be a part of a pivotal learning milestone in these individual lives. At TBT, Shakerra likes expanding her knowledge and gaining hands-on experience in her role. Her goal is to eventually take the board examination to become a BCBA and continue helping individuals with autism and their families. Shakerra enjoys travelling, reading, and spending time with her dog in her free time. As well as exploring the city, discovering new places, and being out in nature.

  • Momina is a life sciences graduate from University of Toronto, Scarborough. She volunteered at an ABA centre in her second year of undergraduate study. Since then, she has been fascinated and inspired by the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and how it is used to help individuals affected by autism and their families! After graduating, Momina completed her Post graduate Diploma in Autism and Behavioral Science from George Brown College in 2020, where she was able to learn more about the field! This inspired her to pursue a career in the field of ABA. Nothing makes Momina happier than seeing the kiddos that we help and their families smiling. Momina is passionate about learning more about the field. She has completed the Registered Behavior Technician coursework, and she hopes to pursue a Masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. Her hope is to become a Senior Therapist and Clinical Supervisor to provide treatment plans for our clients to foster their growth!

Momina Syeda Misbahuddin

Aditi Sharma

  • Aditi Sharma has a Bachelor's degree in Arts with Honors in Sociology and a Master's degree from India. She has a deep understanding of human behavior and societal dynamics.

    During the pandemic, Aditi ventured into entrepreneurship and successfully opened a home bakery. In 2021, she relocated to Canada and earned a Graduate Certificate in Autism and Behavioral Science, achieving the President's Honor Roll. Aditi gained valuable experience supporting individuals with autism through internships with the Niagara Catholic District School Board and Bethesda.

    Driven by her passion for helping others, Aditi pursued a Graduate Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health in 2023, achieving the President's Honor Roll. With exceptional communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families, she creates a supportive environment for those in need. Since last November, she has worked 1:1 with clients in center-based and home-based settings.

    Currently, she is excited to work with a skilled team of professionals and is dedicated to professional growth, and aspires to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

    Beyond her work, Aditi finds solace in swimming and painting, embracing self-care and creative expression.

Inayah Choudhury

  • Inayah holds a Bachelor of Applied Behaviour Analysis degree from George Brown College, of which she graduated from in 2023. She has had a lifelong passion for impacting the lives of others, and has had a special interest in Behavioural Science. It was through this realization that she pursued an education in Applied Behaviour Analysis.

    During her college education, she gained placement experience working with children diagnosed with Autism and Developmental Disabilities in order to reintegrate them back into the classroom environment. Additionally, Inayah has experience as an Autism Support Worker within a recreational respite setting working 1:1 with children and adults with Autism, facilitating fun scheduled activities and supporting them during group adventures out in community.

    She is thrilled to be a part of making a difference in the lives of those with exceptionalities here at The Behaviour Team and is looking forward to bringing her knowledge and skills, as well as learning more from such a wonderful and supportive group of clinicians.

    Outside of her professional endeavors, Inayah indulges in movies and music. She also enjoys exploring the city and spending quality time with loved ones.

  • Anitha Shelby completed her bachelor's degree from Mahathma Gandhi University in 2018 and did her placement in Santhulla Hospital, Kochi. She has also presented a research paper on Family communication and emotional well being at Central University of Tamil Nadu.

    Anitha got the opportunity to work with individuals with developmental disabilities in a rehabilitation centre in India as a volunteer. She developed an interest in working with individuals with special needs. To follow her passion, she completed her Developmental services program from Humber college in 2020 and has been working in the ABA field doing both centre and home therapy since.

Anitha Shelby

Dawa Chodon

  • Dawa Chodon studied Social Services at George Brown College. However, through her previous job and placements at agencies working with members of the Autism community, she developed a love for ABA therapy. At her previous position as a case worker in a group home, Dawa gained experience with ABA therapy and was able to learn how to adapt to any situation and think quickly on her feet. She is a fast learner and enjoys receiving constructive criticism as she always strives to do better.

    Dawa was born in India and immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of 6. She knew from a very young age that she wanted to use her nurturing personality to help others, and is very pleased that she is able to take part in helping the clients at TBT learn skills to help them become more independent.

    Outside of work she enjoys painting, listening to true crime podcasts and reading.

Chehak Bhatia

  • Chehak completed her Bachelors with honors, from India. During her time at the university she volunteered with an NGO that worked with children of different abilities. Her interaction with kids sparked an interest in Applied Behavior Analysis for her. Hence, she decided to move to Canada to pursue her future studies. She has completed her Behavioral Science Technician Diploma from George Brown College. She has also attained a diploma in Workplace Wellness and Health Promotions from Centennial College. She has been working with children since 2021 and has been constantly learning and refining her skills every day. Chehak feels pleasure and pride to be a part of this amazing team and looks forward to many more amazing years ahead with TBT. With growing passion for techniques of ABA she aspires to be a BCBA in the near future.

    FUN FACT: Off work, she owns a small home based bakery and loves to bake.

Anjali Mewada

  • Anjali completed her studies in Autism and Behavioural Sciences from Mohawk College in 2023 and was placed at various ABA institutions for her placement.

    Prior to that, she received her Masters from her home country, India and worked closely with people with mental disabilities. She was introduced to the term autism through her previous work and found a passion towards understanding the subject more. While studying for autism, she decided that she wanted to move further in the field and make a positive impact to the community and to the people around her. She has always loved working with children and cannot wait to start learning from the new experiences.

    Her future goal is to work towards being a BCBA. She cannot wait to learn and grow while working with the kids. She is a quick learner, very receptive and a friendly person. She loves being a part of the amazing The Behaviour Team Inc. In her free time, she likes to read books, play tennis and do some gardening.

Bianca Lara

  • Bianca holds a Bachelor's Degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Youth Care. Born and raised in Brazil, Bianca decided to come to Canada five years ago to pursue her dreams. She has been working with individuals on the Spectrum since then. Honored to be part of this team, Bianca is eager to advance her studies in Behavioral Therapy. Bianca knows the importance of celebrating every small achievement, and to always be hopeful. Besides her career, she enjoys nature walks and traveling.

Samina Yeasmin

  • Samina Yeasmin has completed her diploma in Behavioural Science from George Brown

    college. She has worked with Mild Intellectual Disabled students in Toronto District School Board.

    She came across ABA therapy, and decided to study further in this field.

    Prior to this Samina had completed her honours and masters in English Literature from her home country, Bangladesh. Since then, she became very interested in human psychology and finally, chose to study ABA. She aspires to be a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst in the future.

    She is highly honoured to be a part of The Behaviour Team.

  • Elisha completed her studies in the behavioural science diploma program in 2023 from George Brown College. While studying and through her placement supporting children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, she found a passion for learning more about individuals with developmental disabilities as well as ABA therapy. Elisha is dedicated to supporting the children and families she will work with and is grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of their growth. From a young age, Elisha has always had an interest in working with children and loved finding ways to teach them in fun ways. She is also immensely concerned with bringing light to those around her and making a change in any way that she can.

    In this role at The Behaviour Team, Elisha hopes to gain all the knowledge and experience she can in order to continue to grow and learn within this field. She is also very grateful to be a part of a team that places their clients' care and wellbeing as their top priority.

Elisha Nunes

Jhelica Legayo

  • Jhelica graduated with Honours in 2023 from Seneca College, where she pursued Behavioral Sciences. With a deep passion for understanding human behaviour, particularly in working with children and individuals on the spectrum, Jhelica is dedicated to positively impacting applied behaviour analysis. Her goal is to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in the future and further expand her knowledge in this field.

    When she's not immersed in her studies or work, Jhelica enjoys paddleboarding in the summer and showing her creative side by making delicious desserts. She believes in the importance of balance and self-care as these hobbies bring her joy and relaxation.

    Jhelica is excited about the journey ahead and looks forward to contributing to the well-being and growth of individuals with The Behaviour Team.

Poornima Prasad Bilchod Mutt

  • After receiving her Master of Science degree from India, Poornima began working as a Field Investigator for the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) on a dementia research project. Later, she discovered her interest for working with children while interning at a center that served kids with diagnoses. She worked as a special educator for over two years with them.

    Additionally, until 2022, Poornima taught a variety of courses to college students in Bengaluru, India. Later that year, she relocated to Toronto to pursue her passion and enrolled in a postgraduate diploma program in Behavioral Sciences at George Brown College, from which she graduated with Honours in 2023. Before joining TBT, Poornima worked for a few months in a home-based environment.

    In addition, Poornima has over 14 years of experience as a trained vocalist in Indian classical music. She has given performances on a variety of stages and briefly worked as a track singer in Indian films. She has a certification in baking and loves to experiment and cook authentic recipes from cuisines around the world.

    She is eager to use her previous related expertise to the field of ABA in order to learn more and provide better care. Poornima is delighted to join TBT and embark on a full-fledged career with the most talented team.

Nicole Leigh-Bennett

  • Nicole graduated with Honours in 2023 from the George Brown Behavioural Science Technician diploma program. After living in Montreal for 12 years prior, and gaining a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University, she decided to move back to her home city of Toronto and give back to the community.

    Having previously interned at other ABA centres, she is happy to now be a part of a dedicated team and start working towards her BCaBA certification.

    With an artistic background in music, photography, and creative writing, she hopes to help learners explore expression through a variety of mediums, while also supporting their independence.

Saman Hakim

  • Saman completed her Masters and has more than 4.5 years of experience working in the clinical field of Mental Health and developmental disabilities from child to adolescence in her home country India.

    Since coming to Canada she has been working in the field of Autism and has found a passion towards understanding the subject more. She decided that she wanted to work further in the field and make a positive impact in the community and to the people around her.

    Her future goal is to work towards being a BCBA or be in the Mental Health field. She has always been passionate about working with kids, learning and growing more. She is happy to be a part of the amazing The Behaviour Team Inc. In her free time, she likes to read, travel, explore and loves plants and gardening.

Himani Anand

  • Himani has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delhi, India. After her graduation, she pursued a graduate certificate in Mental Health and Substance Use from Conestoga College. As part of her program, she had an opportunity to work with at-risk youth and collaborated with organizations working towards youth development. From this exposure, she developed a keen interest in making a difference in the lives of kids on the spectrum and enrolled herself in the Autism and Behavioral Science program at George Brown College. Throughout her program, she was placed in a school as well as in an ABA center and had an opportunity to work with populations ranging from 2 to 60 years of age in special education classrooms and one-to-one ABA therapy. The placement experiences helped her build teaching skills and refined her knowledge about ABA principles. Himani hopes to contribute to the overall well-being of the children she is working with and bring positive change in their lives. She is excited to learn and enhance her skills at TBT. Himani has plans to pursue a Masters of Education in and sees her future self working with children, holding a BCBA certification.

    Himani also likes expressing herself through painting, sketching, and music.
